Home at last!

First, I would like to say thank you to all that commented the last couple of posts.
I appreciate every one of you and I apologize that I haven't responded back.
We finally got our service connected and have gotten a little more settled so  I have started my daily ritual of early morning email catch up. I'm looking forward to sharing this
amazing place with you. xoxo
..............

Moving sucks.
{Just wanted to make that clear}
BUT this move has been so worth it.

Let's start from the beginning....
It took us a few days to get the trailers
 balanced out just right.
You know, the right amount of tongue weight
versus behind the axle weight. ;)
Success at last!
Not gonna lie, I did NOT like pulling that heavy trailer plus
what was in the bed of my truck, not to mention what was on top.
Oh, let's not forget the precious cargo of 3 kids
and a doggy {in the window}.
We were l.o.a.d.e.d!

We survived and I quickly got over my fears once we pulled
through Palm Springs and I got comfortable driving that sled.
Oh, I forgot to mention we pulled these plus had a huge semi-truck
full of our belongings. You don't know whatcha
got till you try and pack it to move.
One more day and we probably would have
had a fire sale and just started over.

We made it to New Mexico the first day of  our travels.
It was nice to see California in the rear view after all these
days, weeks, months and years of planning.

So, ya think we were a sight going down the road?

This was a stop along our travels for lunch in East Texas.
We picnicked at Sonic!
Once we got on the back side of Dallas, things started greening up!

We had a little delay after our departure from NM.
Mama got a blow out on the trailer.
SCARY stuff but being the professional truck
driver that I am, I got her wrangled to the side of the road
for my hero to fix it.
 Phew!
We picked up another spare .... just-in-case.

Fast forward to crossing the Mississippi River...
WOW! I want to ride the river boat up that muddy river!
That was such a neat thing to do for the kids (cross the river).
They (and I) absolutely loved it.

East of the Mississippi.... blowout #2.
Fast and easy fix then we stayed overnight in Mississippi for the final night.

We arrived home on July 4th!
It was raining but it was awesome.

We're hoping this will be home for a long, long time.

Miss. Joyce and Mr. Allen brought us over a huge
spread of piping hot pork loin, salads, bread, chips and
a big 'ol container of sweet tea.
We had a most delicious first dinner in our home thanks to them!

Can't wait to have them over for dinner once my kitchen is
up and running. By the dinner's we have had here, I don't know
if I'm going to measure up.  :)

Now, pictures!

Our street to the left and right

Below is the residential part of Prairie Street. Straight down
this road is main street Union Springs.
Very cool!

I'll take more photos of this street because it is nothing
short of amazing.

Our garden pets!

... and there are snakes. Haven't seen a live one yet but
I've heard (from everyone) that they are here and I found
a snake skin in the garden yesterday. Gulp!

The truck arrived!

Our awesome neighbor Justin wrangled some boys together
to help us get unloaded. So, SO thankful for them!

Since then, it's been unpacking, demolition and a little fun
on the side.  And boy, there is still so much to share.

We went into Auburn today and we were in awe of the Countryside here.
It's truly like living life on a vacation.

~ ~ ~ ~

Next visit... the plan and execution of it.
Mama's gettin' a new kitchen {and laundry room and pantry}!

See you back here soon!

xo, Amber

Good to hear from you!
Not one but two flat tires - memory makers. The neighbors sound like they've really shown you some Southern hospitality. Let us know when you have time how the new kitchen is coming along. Take care.

Good thing you picked up that second spare tire!
Hey girl...
So sorry I missed this post.
Here I was thinking I was totally up to date with all my e-mails, till suddenly I am literally watching all my missed e-mails appear in my inbox.
And... there was this post.

What a trip! Amazing!
Everything, the dinner that waited, your He-man/Hero carrying you in,the trailers, the semi, blowouts, breakfast at Sonic (yuck) I remember those Road meals...
Girl... you are probably laughing about it allready!

Anywho! We are moving in January! It is decided. Does not matter how low our budget gets... we are out of here.

Hugs to you all!
Sandy
